Search Engine Marketing Email Marketing what is the best choice to promote a website? That’s a great question and one I am sure will cause some debate.

Email marketing is great if you have your very own email list that has grown by people opting in to your newsletter via your website for example. There can be some issues involved around this type of promotion which can be spam for example and accusations of you sending e-mails to people you should not be sending these e-mails to.

This could happen by people subscribing friends or enemies to you list without them knowing and finding out when a e-zine arrives in the inbox.

If you’re buying an e-mail  list I would do your research carefully and make sure its people that have decided to receive emails about what you’re offering.

Optimising a website where your website ranks well in search results is the method I like to use the most. Its a skill that takes forever to master and continuos tweaking to make sure your using the latest high demand
and low supply keywords but the journey is worth it at the end.

Search engines all work differently and the best search engine to optimise your website for is Google.

Some key things to take note when your doing this sort of website optimisation for search engines is that it all starts with the domain name you have selected. There is some continuing debate that the domain name is not important but I do not agree.

I have learnt that it is important to have your keyword in your domain name because this helps put your website on the map when the Search engine spiders check out your webpage’s which have been optimised for keyword optimisation when search engines look for website’s that have a particular keyword in a domain name.
